Most private health funds provide a rebate for treatment sessions. This depends on the level or type of cover you have. Please contact your fund to enquire as to the extent of your cover.
To be able to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need to see your GP to discuss your eligibility for a ‘General Practitioner Mental Health Treatment Plan (GPMHTP)’. If you are entitled to a GPMHTP you can claim a rebate for up to 6-10 sessions per a calendar year. You may request the psychologist of your choice, or your GP can refer you to a psychologist he or she recommends.
A 15% discount off the gap is offered for individuals holding a valid Health Care Card.
DVA claims may be accepted.
